The effectiveness of this thing astounds me. This year, ants and flying insects are a major problem where we live in Southern California. Since one of our dogs has a weakened immune system and I get terrible migraines from regular pesticide/chemical odors, I've been experimenting with several natural pesticides. The FIRST product that truly functions is this one. Regarding the odor. It does smell strongly, but it fades fast. I think it's the lemongrass oil, which kills ants instantly and I don't mind at all. Exterior: A week later, the once-large clusters of them have simply become stragglers, and they haven't returned to the kitchen. Every few days, I've been spraying the window sill and the locations where they were entering. It doesn't cause me to cough or have a headache, and when I spray a fly, it instantly lands, begins wiggling strangely, and eventually falls flat on its back—it's amazing! • Upon touch, tiny spiders are killed. Large spiders require much more. • I'm confident that using it indoors won't hurt the dogs. • Have succeeded in learning
Hot Shot ant traps are effective! I bought them because I had small black ants in my kitchen and the bathroom next door for the first time ever. I bought the Hot Shot traps after reading the reviews here, which said that the Raid traps are ineffective and that the Hot Shot traps are effective. The ratings were accurate! I set up two traps in the bathroom and two in the kitchen corner, close to where I thought the ants would be coming from, at 8:30 in the morning. After an hour, a procession of ants emerged from beneath the baseboard and proceeded towards the traps. View the picture. Throughout the day, I saw a few ants here and there. (I was able to keep an eye on things because I was working from home in the kitchen next to the ants.) I removed the traps at 5 p.m. and placed them in a ziploc bag since, if you have pets, you should never leave them outside unattended as they can poison them. I set out the traps again the following morning, but I noticed no ants. Same thing the following day. It only took a single day! The ants have vanished! You might have to give them a chance because my infestation wasn't that bad yet.
There are a ton of ant colonies spread out across my land. There are pavement ants and carpenters among them. This spring, the pavement ants were particularly nasty, and I had to keep using sprays and traps inside the house to keep them away. I realized eventually that my only hope was to protect the outer house. I have some non-commercial spray, but I detest using it because it puts our pets and the wildlife in danger. I've dealt with a number of bug firms, and they are all liars and con artists. They assert the safety of their sprays. Actually, it's not. They utilize an extremely toxic spray that remains toxic long after it dries. That's why it lasted for months, really. Alright, let's get back to the subject. Thus, I reasoned that this might be the most secure path. I placed an order for a 24-ounce container, which I then scattered around the home and disposed of in mounds where the ants had created thoroughfares. They disregarded it at first, but after a while they began to fall for the bait. An hour later, the number of ants emerging from the house's masonry was mind-boggling. Even after a few hours, it persisted.

Vinegar repels ants. They will avoid it or leave the house permanently because of the scent of vinegar. Ants march toward the food sources in a straight line as they crawl. These pheromones will be disrupted by the vinegar solution, which will cause the ants to scatter.
Ants will be scared away by the aroma of cinnamon, lemon, and peppermint oil. Spraying diluted oils around your kitchen may work, as may scattering cinnamon in areas where ants have been found to gather. Warberg Block continues, "The domestic spice works as a cutaneous irritation, which will deter them.
