This television show is fantastic! The characters are amazing. They are humorous, lively, clever, and more. These days, it is quite uncommon to come across writers that would rather tell their readers a true narrative than just provide them with a continuous stream of intimate thoughts. More writers should care to tell their readers a compelling story, in my opinion. I adore Gin, Finn, Owen, Sophia, and Jo-Jo as characters. Oh, how I love, love, Philip. He is incredibly witty and caustic. The characters are a family because of their shared humor, camaraderie, love, devotion, and trust. Reading these novels is an amazing, exhilarating pleasure trip. With the exception of the most recent, which is waiting in my queue to be read, I have read every Harry Hole book. Although it has just been translated, this book is "new" in the sense that it is the second installment in the Harry Hole series. I've reviewed Mr. Nesbo's works before, and my comments from those reviews also hold true here. For those of you who are not familiar with the Harry Potter books, Harry is a police investigator in Oslo, Norway, and he is a complete mess—emotionally and otherwise. He is a drunkard. He's haunted by horrible memories, broken hearts, the deaths of people he loved, etc. Though he's a bit of an outcast and antisocial, and a source of resentment for many of his colleagues and superiors in the police department, he's also an exceptionally talented detective who cracks cases no one else can. Nesbo's usual plot (which also applies to this one) is giving you a challenging riddle that Harry appears to solve, but ultimately solves in a different method, revealing the true villain. Nesbo is just a genius.
